Merced Whitewater Adventure

The Merced River is located just outside Yosemite National Park. A favorite run among many whitewater lovers, the Merced is characterized by its large rolling waves and quick currents. The rapids consist mostly of large hydraulics that create an exhilarating and joyous experience. You will laugh and grin from ear to ear as you sail over impressively large waves while taking in the stunning scenery you’d expect from a river that flows from Yosemite.

You’ll start the day out with Cranberry Hole, a Class IV rapid. Next you’ll be able to test your paddling skills on a long section of massive Class III wave trains! You’ll then stop for a snack break before the most anticipated rapid of the day, Ned’s Gulch, a Class IV rapid. After you’ve made it through Ned’s Gulch, you’ll stop for a fresh and delicious lunch. After you’ve refueled, you’ll enjoy a more mellow section of Class III rapids, all leading up to another enthralling three miles of Class III-IV rapids.
