Goodwin Canyon

Goodwin Canyon Whitewater Rafting

Goodwin Canyon is considered one of the best late summer / early fall whitewater rafting runs in California. The wild waters of Goodwin Canyon weave between massive lava boulders and scenery unique to this volcanic gorge. You have to be ready for adventure when taking on this short powerhouse of a run!

You’ll start the day with a fun Class III rapid. After you’ve warmed up, you’ll quickly make your way to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, a lengthy and powerful Class IV rapid. Your guide will have you get out and look at the rapid before you take it on, as it requires careful planning beforehand. Next, you will come across Matterhorn, Upper Pinball, and Lower Pinball. These rapids all lead up to Haunted House, a notoriously intimidating rapid. Haunted House features a narrow chute that flow into a seven-foot drop! A large reversal and boulder combo below the drop creates quite a challenge. After you’ve made it past Haunted House, you will make your way through some fun Class II and III rapids, ending the day on a playful note.
