What’s your favorite rapid or section, and what makes it special?
One of my favorite river sections is Mule Creek Canyon on the Rogue River. On my first multi-day trip, we floated through waterfalls before entering this narrow, swirly canyon. It wasn’t about big drops — it was a serene, magical experience with friends, wildlife, and a spontaneous pineapple upside-down cake cook-off.
Why do you love working at Mother Lode River Center?
When I started guiding, choosing Mother Lode was an easy decision. I wanted a company with a heartfelt mission — one that connects guests to the history and future of California rivers. Coming back each season feels like returning to a community that celebrates each other’s growth and creates opportunities together.
What’s one of your favorite adventures?
Getting to know the magical river Ma Ganga outside Rishikesh, India. I visited after the first women’s guide school in India and spent time with the incredible Nari Nauka women. With yoga every morning, trekking in the Himalaya, river ceremonies, and three days of everything from peaceful floats to epic waves, it was one of the most meaningful off-seasons of my life.
