How do I get to Mother Lode?

What time should I arrive and when will I be departing?

Your confirmation email covers what time your trip starts as well as more pre-trip information.  We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your trip is scheduled to begin to avoid complications. Each of our trips begins right on time so if it looks like you may be a few minutes late, please call our office so we can alert the operations staff.

What should I bring with me and what should I wear for my trip?

We’ve compiled a list of the essentials that we recommend you bring on any one of Mother Lode’s trips. Check out our packing lists for more information.

What will the weather/temperature be like?

Temperatures at Mother Lode can get quite hot during the summertime. Click here to find a more specific forecast for your upcoming trip date. Remember to plan accordingly for daytime temperatures and nighttime temperatures if you are on a multi-day trip. Based on possible temperature fluctuation we always recommend dressing in layers.

Can you accommodate specific dietary needs?

We do our very best to accommodate all types of dietary needs and restrictions.  In order for Mother Lode to discuss the possibility of making dietary accommodations, it is very important to list your restrictions when making the reservation.

Should I tip my guides?

Many of our guests ask this question, wondering if gratuities are considered appropriate and in what amount. If you feel your guide provided an exceptional experience, you betcha!. Given the risks of exposure to COVID, long hours and often arduous working conditions, generous tips have been more common recently, and believe us when we say they are much appreciated!!

What equipment does Mother Lode provide?

We include all of the top-quality equipment you will need for your trip. For whitewater rafting trips, we provide your helmet, paddle, personal flotation device and splash jackets/wetsuits if necessary. For challenge ropes course activities, we provide your harness and helmet.

What if I need to cancel my trip?

If you must cancel your trip, provided we have at least written 30 days written notice, all but your deposit fee will be credited toward a future trip in the same season subject to availability. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the trip date are not eligible for credit, however, you may find another qualified person to take your place without penalty.

Can I transfer my trip to a different date?

We can definitely transfer your trip to another date or even a different trip.  This will be subject to availability and might require a price adjustment based on the new trip.
